Online payment options, such as booking fees and discounted pre-payment, further increase patient engagement, thereby optimising the institution's utilisation and financial benefits.

REAL LIFE EXAMPLES
Patient-side booking: A patient books an appointment online for a specialist appointment. When booking an appointment, the patient selects the credit card payment option, enters the necessary card details and the system securely processes the transaction and sends an immediate confirmation of successful booking and payment. The institution then immediately receives the fee for the test, improving cash flow and reducing risk.
Reception side reservation: A patient books an appointment for a health check by phone. During the appointment booking, the receptionist records the patient's details, including the patient's email address, and a confirmation email is sent to the patient about the pending booking. The confirmation e-mail will contain a "Finalise payment" link. Clicking on this link will take the patient to a test summary screen where they can pay the transaction by credit card, so that the institution receives the test fee in advance.
Booking fee: A patient makes an online appointment for a check-up. For this test, the institution has set a booking fee, which the patient has to pay online at the time of booking. The full amount of the test is payable on the spot, after which the booking fee is refunded to the patient.
OPERATION
Online payment method
- Pre-payment of the full amount of the studies online.
- Online prepayments are made through OTP SimplePay, the largest online payment platform in Hungary
- In case of a reception booking, a payment link will be sent to the patient's e-mail address.
Discounted online payment option
- Optional discounts for patients who choose to pay online.
- The institution may determine the amount of the discount per examination.
- The patient can choose between online prepayment or payment on the spot when booking.
- Reduces the risk of conversion loss due to prepayment.
- MedioGuard™ can be activated.
Booking fee
- It is a deposit, which can be set to any amount (e.g. HUF 5000).
- The reservation can only be finalised after the payment of the deposit.
- The amount will be automatically refunded once the patient pays the full fee on the spot after the examination (2-3 days SimplePay lead time)
- It is possible to use this function only for certain tests, such as high-value tests or tests requiring preparation.
Cancellation conditions
- By default, cancellations within 24 hours will be refunded 50% of the inspection fee, with the remaining amount billed as a cancellation fee.
- The deadline and the percentage value can be parameterised as you wish.
- The Receptionist may decide to cancel the appointment on the grounds of cancellation, with a refund of the full amount.
Online invoicing
- It can be set up via the Invoice.hu integration or directly via the Medio HIS module.
- Automated invoicing on behalf of the institution.
Reception/telephone bookings
- Can also be used for phone bookings.
- The reservation will remain in a pending status until the service fee is paid.
- The length of time for which the system will keep the scan can be set individually.
- In case of non-payment, the appointment will be automatically cancelled after a reminder e-mail.
MedioGuard™
- Protection from patients who do not show up or cancel their booking at the last minute.
- Below a certain booking rate, the patient can only make a booking by credit card.
- By analysing data from nearly 5 million bookings, Medio creates a blacklist of the users with the highest cancellation or no-show rates.
- These users can only make a reservation if they pay for the test in advance.
